The Open Fermentation Day or also "Journée de la Fermentation" is a monthly event happening at every last Saturday of the month. This time it will be 28th of April, base of operation the collective artistic "La Cherche" in Cherbourg.

Main topics are going to be:

  • Kefir Making Workshop - starts at 14h00, donation at your will, no one turned away for lack of funds. The workshop will take two hours or so. Profit will be used for current and future fermentation activities within the fermentation group (sugar shopping, beer brewing project etc.).
  • Dinner preparations - starts around 16h30 and continues till 19h00 when the "Fermentation Healing Table" is laid out. You will be snacking continuously.
  • Fermentation Healing Table - starts at 19h00 and continues over the whole evening till night, with new dish being served every hour or so. We will be serving many fermented probiotic meals and drinks. Donation at your will, no one turned away for lack of funds.
  • Kriek Lambic Tasting - starts around 20h00, we will slowly taste variety of Belgium Kriek Lambic and Framboise Lambic, around ten samples from usual commercial ones to really high quality pearls. If we get around €60 in donations than the tasting will be covered, as usually no one turned away for lack of funds.
